Gmail hereafter lets a quicker way of previewing video attachment before downloading

Gone are difficult days in downloading every video attachment in Gmail to the computer’s hard drive to open it and decide its importance on the drive. Here is the good news for Gmail users which is the “quality of life improvement” among the bunch of updates released by Google last week. Hereafter, the gmail previewing video attachment right on the page itself without downloading and viewing with a media player.

The video delivered will be of optimum quality as this feature is similar to the same infrastructure that is powered for Google Drive, YouTube and many other apps for video streaming. The new feature has started to roll out to G suite users and will be right in front of everyone within next two weeks. The users can adjust the sound levels and quality, rewind the clip and route to Chromecast device within the Gmail page itself. Even though the new feature of gmail previewing video attachment is small, it is very effective while sending a video through a smartphone as the recipients can save couple of steps before viewing them. Google has increased the size limit of receiving a video as attachment to 50MB from 25MB earlier this month. The size limit for sending the video has not increased yet and if it needs to be done, Google Drive link will get added by Gmail. Gmail inbox will be more productive later this year by enabling business users check CRM details with ProsperWorks, generate and send invoices through Intuit QuickBooks and check contacts in Salesforce.
